About this role
As the first US-based engineer, you'll be architecting and building the core infrastructure that powers human data training for AI labs across non-verifiable domains like design, finance, and multimodal tasks. This is a high-impact role where you'll build internal tooling systems from scratch, competing with industry-leading platforms.
What you'll do
- Build internal tooling system from scratch (competing with OpenAI's Feather)
- Design workflows for domain experts to create high-quality training data
- Deploy LLMs and evaluation pipelines in production
- Create agent training systems for specific verticals
- Integrate with enterprise systems (CRMs, payments, data warehouses)
- Rapid product experimentation and data analysis
What we're looking for
- 0 - 4 years of experience as a backend-focused, applied AI engineer with steep learning curve
- Strong proficiency in Python, React, Next.js, SQL/NoSQL, and Airflow
- Experience with LLMs and machine learning pipelines
- Ability to build production-ready systems from scratch
- Experience with data pipeline architecture and enterprise integrations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work in-person 6 days per week in San Francisco
